Louis Becker
Global Design Principal,
Henning Larsen Copenhagen
Louis Becker is the Global Design Principal at Henning Larsen, where he has been instrumental in expanding the studio's international presence for over three decades. Taking a context-driven approach to the design process, he tackles every project based on the conviction that architecture must speak directly to users and give back to the society in which it exists. This approach is uniquely evident in the 2013 Mies van der Rohe award-winning Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Center in Reykjavík, Iceland, and more recent projects including Nordø in Copenhagen, Denmark, Mission Rock in San Francisco, and the Jeddah Opera House in Saudi Arabia.
Louis’ commitment to architectural excellence extends to academia, where he serves as an Adjunct Professor and is a frequent speaker at universities worldwide. Recognized for his contributions to Danish architecture, he received the Eckersberg Medal in 2011.
